Charles Schwab, Artificial Intelligence and Military Money

We live in the year 2023. We have access to information technology that would look like magic if it were available just 20 years ago. It’s time to take action for your own sake and build something for yourself.

Robo-investors can work for you, to help you meet your goals

Charles Schwab’s robo advisor is an automated investment service designed for individuals who want a hands-off approach to managing their money. When you use this service, you begin by providing information about your financial goals (how much money you want to retire with), risk tolerance (high risk could mean high reward), and time horizon (are you looking to make money now or later). This information is then processed by advanced computer algorithms that analyze and construct a diversified portfolio tailored to your specific needs.

The robo-advisor invests your funds across various asset classes, such as stocks and bonds, aiming to optimize returns while managing risk. It constantly monitors the financial markets and your portfolio’s performance. If there are shifts in market conditions or if your goals change, the robo advisor automatically adjusts your investment mix to stay aligned with your objectives.

This approach leverages the benefits of diversification (owning multiple asset classes) and systematic rebalancing to enhance the potential for long-term growth. The goal is to provide a sophisticated, yet user-friendly, investment solution that harnesses technology to make informed decisions and adapt to changing market dynamics. Ultimately, the robo advisor strives to optimize your investment strategy, allowing you to pursue your financial goals with a level of efficiency and responsiveness that traditional investment approaches may lack.

It’s a lot of info, I know. But you’re here to learn, aren’t you?

If using a robo-advisor seems like too much or too difficult, you can always leverage a Large Language Model like ChatGPT or Bard in order to start learning. Here’s a conversation I had with ChatGPT in order to learn about investing (link to the conversation here):

Question I posed: Hey ChatGPT, can you teach me how to invest in the stock market in the USA?

ChatGPT: “Certainly! Investing in the stock market involves several steps. Here’s a simplified guide to get you started:

1. **Educate Yourself:**
– Learn the basics of how the stock market works, terms like stocks, bonds, dividends, and market indices.
– Understand different investment strategies and risk levels.

2. **Set Financial Goals:**
– Determine your investment objectives, whether it’s long-term growth, income, or a mix of both.

3. **Create a Budget:**
– Assess your financial situation and create a budget. Only invest money you can afford to lose.

4. **Choose a Broker:**
– Select a reputable brokerage platform. Consider factors like fees, user interface, research tools, and customer support.

5. **Open an Account:**
– Follow the broker’s instructions to open and fund your account.

6. **Research and Select Stocks:**
– Conduct research on companies you’re interested in. Look at their financials, performance, and future prospects.

7. **Diversify Your Portfolio:**
– Spread your investments across different sectors and industries to reduce risk.

8. **Monitor Your Investments:**
– Keep an eye on your portfolio’s performance and stay informed about market trends.

9. **Stay Informed:**
– Stay updated on financial news and events that may impact the market.

10. **Long-Term Perspective:**
– Investing is typically more successful with a long-term approach. Avoid making impulsive decisions based on short-term market fluctuations.

Remember, investing always carries risks, and past performance is not indicative of future results. It’s wise to consult with a financial advisor and continue learning as you navigate the stock market.”

…Now that you see just what Large Language Models are capable, you can use this information to conduct research and identify other ways to leverage ‘AI’ for your own benefit. Why? Because the average Military Retiree will NOT have enough income to retire off of if they rely on only their military pension. Many people separate or retire from the military without learning about the tools they have availabile (be it military resources or civilian resources, such as ChatGPT). So the time is now, for all of my readers to get educated on what ‘AI’ can do and how it can best be utilized to increase your happiness, your income and ultimately your freedom.
